Richard began learning the guitar at the age of 5, however, began immersing himself in the art from 2014. Since working professionally he has performed in a number of musical theatre productions such as All Shook Up, Jekyll & Hyde, Annie, Sister Act, Wizard of Oz, Camp Rock and High School Musical. He has also performed in pantomimes.

In addition to his theatre work, Richard has also performed with numerous function bands across various genres including soul, motown, pop and rock. Richard also performs for his own bands The Kopi Katz, and a gypsy jazz ensemble known as The Rhythm Swing Quintet. Covering such a range of genres, not only is Richard is a versatile musician, but also a versatile teacher. Richard offers a lot of knowledge which comes from his vast experience in the field. From theatre work, to MD work, session work and also band leading, Richard understands how to take skills into the professional world. He ensures that this knowledge and experience is key in his classroom structure so that his can aid his students in becoming the best that they can be.
